If you have set up a printer on your Windows 10 computer, you can share it with other computers in the network. We explain how this works in the following instructions.

Note: You need admin rights to share a printer.

Turn off password-protected shares

You should switch off the password-protected shares so that you can print from the other PCs without entering a password. To do this, follow our step-by-step instructions or take a look at the brief instructions.

  1. Open the Settings via the start menu or the key combination [Windows] + [I].
  2. Click on "equipment".
  3. Select left "Printers & scanners".
  4. Now click on the printeryou want to share and select "Manage" out.
  5. Then go to "Printer properties".
  6. Switch to the tab "release"and click on the button"Change sharing options".
  7. Now check the box next to "Share printer"forgive one Share name and confirm with "OK".

Quick guide: Turn off password-protected shares

  1. Open the Settings and click on "Network and internet".
  2. Go under "Change network settings" on "Sharing options".
  3. Open "Guest or Public (current profile)"and mark the point"Enable file and printer sharing".
  4. Then open "All networks", scroll down and highlight"Deactivate password-protected sharing".
  5. End the process via "save Changes".
