A real democratic world government is viable

Deliberative Critique - Critique of Deliberation

Hardly any concept in the recent history of political theory can look back on such a steep and long-lasting career as that of deliberation. The considerations combined in this volume are under the heading "Deliberative Critique - Critique of Deliberation", which in one go makes clear the critical meaning of deliberation and the need for a reflexive criticism of the concept of deliberation itself. In addition to exploring the history of ideas and the normative foundations of deliberation, it is about an examination of alternative concepts and institutional contexts. In view of the fact that political processes emerge from the framework of the nation-state, transnational and cosmopolitan perspectives are also extensively examined.
