How is Airtel Broadband FTTH in Hyderabad

What is JioFiber? All questions about 100 Mbit / s FTTH broadband, free 3-month service and more answered

Reliance Jio is launching JioFiber next month

Reliance Jio's entry into India has been overwhelming for consumers. It gets more exciting as the telecommunications start-up is about to launch its long-rumored JioFiber broadband high-speed fiber service in India with an offer you can't refuse.

Recall the launch of Jio 4G in late 2016 when the telecommunications company offered free 4G data and voice calling services for six months and then changed the face of the entire telecommunications industry by offering incumbents with aggressively priced voice and data bundle offers challenged? Well, it's time to repeat.

JioFiber FTTH is finally coming, with free offers of course!

Get ready when the telecommunications and technology startup, led by Mukesh Ambani, officially launches its high-speed broadband service in India at speeds up to 1Gbps next month. More excitingly, the company is launching the JioFiber Preview Offer to provide early customers with 100GB per month for 100Mbps broadband for free for 3 months. TelecomTalk reported.

Based on the success of the telecommunications service Jio 4G, the company could pursue a similar strategy in its broadband venture. The initial free offerings should give the company a massive user base. Once the free time is up, Reliance Jio can extend the free offer (if legal entities aren't an obstacle) but it is certain that the prices for the fixed broadband service will be aggressive.

When I tried JioFiber at RIL headquarters

During the Reliance Jio India Digital Open Summit 2018 last month, I had the opportunity to test out Jio's upcoming JioFiber broadband. In short, the incredibly fast pace that powers all of the company's headquarters can surely move a nation of over a billion people towards digitization sooner. In a demo setup of Jio's fiber optic broadband, I saw 44 devices connected to a single network with JioFiber. And all of these devices worked effortlessly quickly.

With the commercial launch of JioFiber or GigaFiber (as I've heard from some representatives) the company will provide its own router. Jio had also shown small walkie-talkie-like devices called Jio Small Cells to boost WiFi signals throughout the house. The Jio set-top box operated with Jio GigaFiber, PS4-capable with buffer-free VR streaming, IoT devices, motion sensors, CCTV cameras and much more.

What does JioFiber cost?

If the leaked plans are anywhere near the truth, JioFiber subscribers may pay Rs 500 for 600GB of data and Rs 2,000 for 1,000GB at 100Mbps per month. This will create a massive wave of disruption in the broadband sector led by established companies like Airtel, ACT Fiber, BSNL and MTNL.

However, there is no evidence that these JioFiber monthly plans are real. They seem too good to be true. But anything is possible with Jio. According to a previous report, leaks had uncovered tariffs for JioFiber broadband starting at Rs 1,500 per month.

In addition, the report had shown a one-time cost of Rs 4,500 to install compatible equipment, which will be reimbursed after the free trial period if the customer chooses to discontinue the services. If you want to take part in the JioFiber preview offer, you have to stay in contact with the Reliance stores, as registration takes place there.

JioFiber against others

Compared to the tariffs rumored by JioFiber, ACT's official GIGA broadband offers plans from Rs 5,999 per month at 1Gbps speed, FUP from 1,250GB and 1Mbps according to FUP. The broadband provider also introduced six month and year plans for Rs 35,994 and Rs 71,998, respectively. The service is currently available in Bengaluru and Hyderabad.

Other rivals Jio will face in its JioFiber rollout include Airtel and BSNL. With the prospect of Jio launching its low-cost fiber broadband in India, existing providers have started preparations early.

Last year Airtel offered 1,000GB of free data to its broadband customers as part of its BigByte offering. Before that, Airtel offered 1,000GB data to its V-Fiber customers free of charge for one year.

Reliance Jio fiber broadband launch is closer than ever!

JioFiber - a long overdue plan

Reliance Jio's FTTH broadband rollout is long overdue. RIL Chairman and MD Mukesh Ambani discussed JioFiber's progress at the company's 40th Annual General Meeting last July.

“The creation of high-speed broadband fixed line services is the next step for our country. Jio is still well on its way to bringing world-class fiber connectivity to businesses, small businesses, homes and public spaces. Most of Jio's infrastructure to provide these services is already in place. This is the next big monetization opportunity for Jio. I will keep you updated with progress in each of these areas, ”he said.

Reliance Jio has been testing its high-speed broadband fixed line service for some time. JioFiber is present in select locations in around 10 cities across India including Mumbai, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Jamnagar, Surat and Vadodara.
