What are the best festivals in Delaware

USA: The best festivals of 2017 ❤ + ♫

Festivals in the USA have a long tradition. It is said that this is where the modern festivals were invented. The Newport Jazz Festival first took place in 1954. The USA is still a real festival nation today: from the classics on the west coast to great locations in the south to concerts on the east coast.

Let yourself be inspired by the festival tips for a musical stopover on your trip to the USA or use them as an occasion for a trip across the Atlantic.

Coachella (April 13th to 15th and April 20th to 22nd, 2018)

The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is one of the largest festivals in the world. This is mainly due to the fact that it takes place on two consecutive weekends - but not with different line-ups, but with the same acts.

In 2018, for example, Alan Walker, Beyoncé, Eminem, Hayley Kiyoko, French Montana and Kygo are coming to Coachella Valley, California. Around it there are art projects and exhibitions.

Festival factor: For everyone who wants to see the US music Olympus

Coachella | April 13-22, 2018 | Indio, California | Tickets are sold out - maybe next year?

Sasquatch! (May 25-27, 2018)

The “Sasquatch! Music Festival ”was founded in 2002 to promote regional bands. Regional refers to the greater Seattle area - and that means: distorted guitars and a grunge sound. As the birthplace of the bands Nirvana and Pearl Jam, nothing else can be expected.

In the meantime, the genre boundaries of the festival in Washington state have softened significantly - in 2018, David Byrne, Lizzo, Tank and the Bangas and (Sandy) Alex G. are in the line-up.

Not only the announced acts are special, but also the scenery of the location: “The Gorge” is an amphitheater right on the Colorado River. And each of the four stages is embedded in the pretty landscape.

Festival factor: for indie aesthetes

Bonnaroo (June 7-10, 2018)

While the title of the "Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival" goes back to the Creole meaning of having a really good time, there is no trace of these rhythm and blues roots in the line-up today. Headliners are for example Eminem, Future, Rag'n'Bone Man and Dua Lipa.

With Woodstock as a model, the festival will of course take place on a farm in the heart of Rock’n’Roll hometown of Tennessee. You can combine your visit to the festival with a road trip through the southern states.

Festival factor: for sun worshipers

Bonnaroo | June 7-10, 2018 | Manchester, Tennessee | Tickets for all four days are still available from 260 euros

Firefly (June 14-17, 2018)

The “Firefly Music Festival” is, so to speak, the East Coast's answer to the “Coachella” mega festival taking place in California. With a wide range of US superstars, everything is done in Dover, in the US state of Delaware, to also present the superlatives of a festival. For 2018, among others, Martin Garrix, Arctic Monkeys, Eminem and Kendrick Lamar are in the line-up. All around there is also a lot to discover, such as the "Silent Rave", in which the DJ's music is only played through headphones.

Festival factor: the all-rounder on the east coast

Firefly | June 14th to 17th, 2018 | Dover, Delaware | Tickets from 240 euros for four days

Electric Daisy Carnival (May 18-20, 2018)
