What's your favorite action song

7 questions for Fabio Wibmer - What does music mean to you?

A good action clip needs good music. It is not without reason that you sometimes associate a certain song directly with the corresponding action clip of your favorite athlete. Not to mention the move into your personal favorite playlists. But is this music really the music that professionals like to hear? And how is this music selected? Music also plays an important role in the life of the Austrian MTB professional Fabio Wibmer. On the occasion of his partnership with Teufel, for which Fabio will work as a brand ambassador in the future and who will support him with Bluetooth speakers, we talked to the YouTube star about music.

Fabio, in which situations do you listen to music?

Music means a lot to me. Be it chilling out, biking, in the car ... I actually always listen to music. There is seldom a place where I don't listen to music. I'm also always looking for new songs for content production. I just like listening to cool music and it's fun!

How do you choose the music for your action clips? What is particularly important to you?

Basically, it depends a lot on the action clip itself. First you have an idea, then you look at how to set up the video and then you try to find the right music for it. If I want a little more action, then I'm looking for faster music. If it has to be a little quieter and slower, then I look a little more towards indie songs.

I like music that climbs to a climax parallel to the video. If there is a blatant trick in the video, it should also be accompanied by music. After that, things can go on a little quieter until video and music meet again at the next climax.

Is the music from your action clips the same music that you hear privately?

Partially. For example, I really enjoy listening to the music from Wibmer's Law. But it often happens that the songs from the action clips quickly sound out because I hear them too often during production and editing. Overall, I'm very open - if I like the song, the genre doesn't matter. I often just listen to charts.

When you sit on the bike, music is your constant companion. Do you always play the same playlist?

Yes, I always have music with me, but not always the same playlist. It depends. Unfortunately, I just accidentally deleted all the tracks on my indie playlist. She was pretty chilled and actually fit perfectly with trial biking. Then I have a playlist in which I tend to have motivational music that I hear both while trial biking and mountain biking.

How do you listen to music at home?

Quite different to be honest. Most of the time we turn on the system - one from Teufel, a 5.1 surround system that is connected to the television. It then covers the whole house pretty well, which is really legendary. When we have a party outside in the summer or I lie down in the sun to relax outside, the cool Bluetooth speaker is often used. It's portable and also has really good sound quality. Otherwise on the computer with smaller boxes.

As a bike professional and influencer, you travel a lot. How do you listen to music on the go?

I always have the Rockster Go, a smaller, portable Bluetooth box, with me. It doesn't take up any space and makes a good sound. Music is important, especially when I have to fly somewhere or when we are driving the car on a road trip with the whole crew. When we drove across France for my new video, for example, we always had the Teufel box with us.

Do you have a favourite song?

One of my all-time favorite songs is probably still Numb / Encore by Jay-Z and Linkin Park. It always works. At the moment I think E-Dubble is really awesome. He's got some cool songs. Otherwise, The Seige is also trending in our house. We also used their music for our new Urban Freeride Lives 3 video, which will appear on YouTube on December 3rd. Then you can get an idea for yourself. So stay tuned!
